About the Author

Shawn Ogunseye, PhD is a researcher and educator working at the intersection of artificial intelligence, information quality, and digital transformation. His work focuses on how organizations can harness AI responsibly while navigating the complex governance challenges that emerge when intelligent systems meet human institutions.

Dr. Ogunseye brings both academic rigor and practical perspective to AI governance. Before entering academia, he accumulated extensive industry experience in software development and IT management. With a background in Computer Science and Math, he earned his PhD in Information Systems from Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada, and served as a postdoctoral research and teaching fellow at the Sauder School of Business, University of British Columbia.

He has organized workshops on the social impact of AI for the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) and serves as Secretary for the AIS Special Interest Group on Systems Analysis and Design (SIGSAND).

Dr. Ogunseye is an award-winning educator, recognized for innovation in teaching. He is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the Association for Information Systems (AIS), and contributes to advancing the field through service on conference committees and boards.
